What we do

About Our Flat Roofs

Flat roofs get a hard time from standing water and sun, so the covering matters. We re-cover and replace flat roofs on extensions, garages, dormers, porches and bay windows using modern felt, EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass systems, laid to fall so water runs off the way it should.

What's Included

  • Stripping the old covering back to a sound deck
  • Replacing or over-boarding the deck where needed
  • Felt, EPDM rubber or GRP fibreglass to suit the roof
  • New trims, drips and upstands
  • Outlets and guttering checked so water runs away cleanly

The options

Types of flat roofs we fit

Felt Roofs

Felt Roofs

Modern torch-on felt is a proven, cost-effective covering for garages, sheds and smaller extensions. These built-up systems are a long way from the old single-layer felts: laid in bonded layers with a mineral cap sheet, they give a tough, reliable finish at a sensible price. We dress the felt neatly into the trims and upstands so the edges stay watertight.

Rubber Roofs

Rubber Roofs

EPDM rubber is one of the most durable flat-roof coverings available, often laid in a single seamless sheet with very few joints to fail. It flexes with the building through hot and cold weather and can last well over twenty years with almost no maintenance. It is an excellent choice for extensions and dormers where you want to fit and forget.

Fibreglass Roofs

Fibreglass Roofs

GRP fibreglass gives a hard, seamless finish that is ideal for bay windows, balconies and areas that get walked on. The glass matting and resin cure into one solid, joint-free surface, then a coloured topcoat is applied for a clean, even look. Fitted in dry conditions and finished properly, a fibreglass roof is extremely hard-wearing and long-lasting.

Good to know

Flat Roofs Questions

How long does a flat roof last?

A well-fitted EPDM rubber or fibreglass flat roof can last 20 years or more. Felt systems are a lower-cost option with a shorter life. We will explain the trade-offs when we quote.

Can you fix ponding water?

Often yes. Standing water usually means the falls are wrong or the deck has sagged. We can build in the right fall when we re-cover so water runs to the outlet.

Felt, rubber or fibreglass, which should I choose?

Felt is the budget-friendly option, EPDM rubber is durable and near maintenance-free in a single seamless sheet, and fibreglass gives a hard finish that is ideal where the roof gets walked on. We will recommend the best fit for your roof and budget.

Can you re-cover my roof without stripping it?

Sometimes, if the existing deck is sound. More often it pays to strip back to a good surface so the new covering lasts. We will check the deck and tell you honestly what it needs.

Do you replace the guttering and outlets too?

We check the outlets and guttering as part of the job and can renew them so water drains away cleanly, rather than leaving a new roof draining into old, blocked gutters.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Every quote is free and without obligation, with a clear breakdown of the covering and cost.
