Cost
There's no single price for flat roofing in North Hykeham, since every roof is different. What we can promise is a free, no-obligation written quote with a full breakdown before any work starts. The main things that affect cost are:
What's included
North Hykeham's flat roofs range from small porch and garage coverings to larger outbuilding roofs, so getting the deck and falls right matters as much as the covering itself.
Systems we fit
Not every flat roof in North Hykeham needs the same covering. The right system depends on the building, the budget and how the roof will be used, so here's how the three systems we fit compare.
Felt is still a common, budget-friendly choice on smaller roofs like porches and garden stores, where a straightforward covering does the job without a large outlay. It's quick to fit and easy to repair, though it has the shortest lifespan of the three systems we offer.
For extensions and outbuildings that need to shrug off standing water for years without fuss, EPDM rubber is usually our first recommendation. It comes as a single seamless sheet, so there are far fewer joints to fail than with felt.
GRP fibreglass gives a hard, walkable finish, which suits flat roofs that double as access routes or sit above storage areas. It's more expensive to fit than felt but forms a genuinely seamless, glass-like surface once cured.

How it works
On North Hykeham's estates the flat roof is usually on an attached garage or a rear extension, often with good side access, so here's how we replace one:
Survey and quote
We check the deck from above and below, look at how the roof drains to its gutter, and see where it meets the house wall or the garage door head.
Strip and check the deck
The old felt comes off, and any chipboard or ply that's gone soft is cut out and replaced so the new covering has a firm base.
Lay the new system
We lay felt, EPDM rubber or GRP fibreglass to an even fall, and dress it neatly up the wall and over the edge trims.
Finish and clear
The wall flashing is sealed, we run water across the roof to check it drains, and all the old covering is taken away.
