Roof Repairs
Stamford's stone-built streets mean roof repairs here are often about matching a natural slate or stone tile as much as fixing the leak itself. C R Smith & Son finds the real cause of a problem, a slipped slate, failed lead, cracked pointing, and repairs it properly, sourcing the nearest match so the work doesn't stand out against a period roofline. Every job starts with a free, no-obligation written quote.
C R Smith & Son covers Stamford (PE9) and the surrounding villages, including West Deeping, Maxey, Helpston, Belmesthorpe, Wittering and Marholm.
Cost
There's no single price for a roof repair in Stamford, since every job is different. What we can promise is a free, no-obligation written quote with a full breakdown before any work starts. The main things that affect cost are:

Systems we fit
A closer look at how we put each of these problems right in Stamford:
Stamford's Georgian and stone-built properties are mostly roofed in natural slate or clay pantile, so matching a replacement matters more here than almost anywhere else we cover. We'll source the nearest match, or reclaimed slate where needed, so a repair doesn't stand out against the rest of the roof.
Leaks on period Stamford properties often trace back to failed lead flashing or cracked pointing around chimneys rather than the slates themselves. We find the real cause rather than just patching the nearest spot.
Lead flashing on older Stamford roofs can fail after decades of exposure. We renew flashings and soakers carefully, working around existing stonework rather than disturbing it more than necessary.
Ridge and hip tiles bedded in old, crumbling mortar are a common source of leaks on period properties. We re-bed and re-point them so the ridge line is watertight again.
Moss builds up more readily on north-facing stone and slate roofs, trapping moisture and loosening slates over time. We clear it as part of the repair visit.
